Wayne "Spider" Webb, of Lubbock, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017, in the mountains of Pecos, NM. There, he and the love of his life, Ginger Leidi, shared a beloved cabin since 1989, creating wonderful memories.

Born October 9, 1931. He graduated 2 years early from High school at Lubbock High. He served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. He then worked with his father who was a house builder. He later worked at the Lubbock Water Department reading meters for a year or so. He finished his working career...

Wayne "Spider" Webb, of Lubbock, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017, in the mountains of Pecos, NM. There, he and the love of his life, Ginger Leidi, shared a beloved cabin since 1989, creating wonderful memories.

Born October 9, 1931. He graduated 2 years early from High school at Lubbock High. He served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. He then worked with his father who was a house builder. He later worked at the Lubbock Water Department reading meters for a year or so. He finished his working career at the Lubbock Post Office from 1965 to 1992 where he met many of his friends and his love, Ginger.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He very much enjoyed an early game of golf with his long time friends. He loved walking the trails in the mountains, finding wild strawberries and flowers, taking pictures of the wild life, the beautiful scenery, and crazy looking mushrooms. He played cards with his family into the evening, teasing the girls the whole time. He loved bluegrass music festivals and played the banjo like a pro.

He was preceded in death by his sister Lillian Moore, his mother and father, Lee and Gertrude Webb, brother and sister-in-law Gene and Bobbie Webb, and his brother Glenn Webb; and Snickers, the wire haired terrier.

Survivors include: Ginger Leidi, best friend & love; his sister-in-law, Cindy Webb and niece, Amanda Webb; nephew, Craig Allen and his wife Susan, their daughters Samantha Allen, Nichole Johnson and her family; niece, Christy Hart and her husband Jerry, their children, Tonya Hart, Trudy Hart and her son; Haden Hart and his wife Angelica and their son.

He was also known as "Papa Spider" to Patricia Willis and her children Madison and Cassidy.
He will be missed.

Celebration of Life Services will held at 2 pm, Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home with Jim Powel officiating.

Services are under the personal directions of the professionals at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
