Nona C. Baxter of Lubbock, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday morning March 12, 2017. Meeting her at the gates of Heaven was her one true love, Oliver Max Baxter.

She is survived by her daughter, Elaina Vail of Lubbock; grandson, Jordan Vail of Lubbock and grandson and his wife Matthew and Mia Vail of Hobbs NM. Preceding her in death was her brother Harmon and Vernon Chilcutt and many dear friends and relatives who loved her so much.

She is survived by her daughter, Elaina Vail of Lubbock; grandson, Jordan Vail of Lubbock and grandson and his wife Matthew and Mia Vail of Hobbs NM. Preceding her in death was her brother Harmon and Vernon Chilcutt and many dear friends and relatives who loved her so much.

Nona was born to Ora Aden Chilcutt and Dora Ethyl Parks on January 31, 1935 in Springtown, Texas. A few years later her family moved to Lubbock where she met Max Baxter at Lubbock High School. They married December 21, 1952 and on that date seven years later they had their only child, Elaina.

Nona was a devoted wife, mother, friend, favorite aunt, and sister-in-law to all. She helped people all the days of her life, and that was what she lived for.
