Services for Ted G. Monroe, 82 of Lubbock, will be held on Wednesday, May 17th 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Resthaven Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Ted passed away on Saturday, May 13th after a brief battle with cancer.

Ted was born in Whiteface, TX to Conna and Birdie Monroe. He married Lillian A. Monroe on Feb. 28th, 1959 in Long Beach, CA. He was a member of the Green Lawn Church of Christ in Lubbock, TX. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Monroe in 2010, his son Mark Monroe in 2002 and 2 brothers, Rex Monroe and Max Monroe.

Survivors include his wife, Anna (remarried in 2011), two sons; Mitch & wife Ginger Monroe of Lubbock; Miles and wife Laurie Monroe of Dallas; a daughter-in-law, Rene Rudder of Lubbock; Sister-in-law, Mayme Monroe of Arkansas. He is also survived by six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ted G. Monroe served as a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy and received an honorable discharge after serving 4 years of active duty and 14 years in the reserves. He founded Assist, Inc. in Lubbock, TX in 1970 to serve the financial needs of ministers, a company that continues to serve and carry out his vision. Ted also served as an elder both at the Parkway Drive Church of Christ in Lubbock, TX and the Pearl Harbor Church of Christ in Hawaii.
